Dr. R. S. Dahiya, the Managing Director of Sharad Projects India Limited, is a versatile entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry. Under his able leadership, the company has provided turn-key services to pulp, paper & allied industries, offering regular consultancy, engineering, technical audit, installation, and effluent treatment plant services. The company, since its inception, has successfully designed, erected, and commissioned prestigious projects in India and abroad.
Dr. R. S. Dahiya boasts a commendable academic track record and is holding a PhD. in management on the thesis entitled Corporate Strategies For Enhancing the Operational Efficiency of Tissue Paper Industry, MBA (Project Management), Graduate Engineer (Chemical) and Degree of Bachelor of Science.
During his PhD research, he identified major challenges in the tissue paper industry in India and proposed solutions in areas such as fiber recovery, energy & water conservation and process optimization through a specially designed SPIL’s Micro Plate Settler. It was published in CII Best Practices Manual for Pulp & Paper Sector Volume -11, 2023. Dr. R. S. Dahiya has published numerous research articles in leading journals & actively participated in national and international conferences.

such as All India Management Association (AIMA), Chandigarh Management Association (CMA), Indian Commerce Association (ICA), Indian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (IIPPTA), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE), and Technical Association of the Paper and Pulp Industry (TAPPI).
In 1994, Sharad Projects India Limited (SPIL) commenced consulting for the Pulp & Paper Industry, gradually expanding into turnkey projects. Their expertise encompassed project engineering and technical auditing services.
By 2000, SPIL diversified into environmental services, specifically focusing on Water & Air Pollution treatment for the industry. They successfully executed numerous greenfield projects, marking a significant milestone.
In 2004, SPIL shifted its focus to elevate water management in the Pulp & Paper Industry. Innovative systems like Fibre Recovery, Sulphate Removal, and Water Clarification were developed. They also ventured into providing turnkey solutions for Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and Air Pollution Control System.
In 2012, SPIL introduced the Micro Plate Settler (MPS) for effluent treatment, paving the way for subsequent products like Belt Filter Press, Auto Back Wash Filters, and Rotary Screen. These installations became integral in various industries.
By 2018, SPIL had earned acclaim as a leading designer and manufacturer of ETP, Solid Waste Handling, and Process Liquid Recovery Equipment, emphasizing efficient effluent treatment at the source.
In 2023, JK Papers lauded SPIL, and a case study highlighting the success of SPIL’s Micro Plate Settler was published in the ‘Best Practices Manual for the Pulp & Paper Sector, Volume-11’ by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
